At Oxley College, we recognise the importance of sport in shaping the overall educational experience of our students.

Whether on the track, pitch or field, or in the pool, Oxley College offers a comprehensive range of team sports that emphasise not only physical development but also social and emotional learning. Across both the Junior and Senior School, our sports programs are designed to encourage active participation, promote physical fitness, and instil lifelong values such as teamwork, resilience, and respect.

Our students benefit from the wide range of team sports on offer. Boys can participate in Cricket, Basketball, Football, Rugby Union, Touch Football and Tennis, while girls have the opportunity to compete in Hockey, Softball, Football, Netball, Basketball, Touch Football and Tennis. In addition to team sports, students also take part in annual House competitions for Athletics, Swimming and Cross-Country. Weekly ISA sport competitions and House carnivals provide a representative pathway to the highest levels.

Recognising the importance of a well-rounded education, Oxley College requires all Senior School students to complete at least one season of ISA team sport each year. This not only encourages active participation but also strengthens the bonds within our school community as students work together to achieve shared goals.

For those seeking additional sporting challenges, optional programs such as Fencing, Equestrian and Snowsports are also available.

The College ensures that the experience of sport is well supported, offering organised transport to away games and extending warm hospitality to visiting teams during home fixtures. Through our comprehensive sports program, Oxley College continues to promote the benefits of physical activity, teamwork and personal growth, preparing students for success both on and off the field.

Junior School (K-6)

Oxley College offers a comprehensive Junior School Sports program, aiming to foster participation and enjoyment for all students. Students can join College teams competing in various sports in the local Southern Highlands, including Football, Netball, Hockey, Cricket, Basketball, and Softball (Macarthur Association). Additionally, students have access to a range of other sports and skill development activities like Tennis, Fencing, Equestrian, Rugby, as well as Running, Athletics, and Swimming training.

As a member of the Independent Primary School Heads Association (IPSHA), Oxley College offers Junior School students opportunities to engage in representative Swimming, Cross Country, and Athletics Carnivals. This involvement creates pathways for students to potentially earn qualifications for CIS and All Schools Carnivals.

Senior School (7-12)

Our Senior School sports program is designed to encourage participation with a positive attitude, promoting sportsmanship and mutual respect among schools that share similar values. As a founding member of the Independent Sporting Association (ISA) competition, Oxley is proud to maintain a strong tradition of fostering healthy competition.

Talented Athlete Program (TAP)

Balancing elite sports with academic commitments can be challenging. To support our high-performing athletes, Oxley College launched the Talented Athlete Program (TAP) in 2024. TAP provides mentorship, assistance with managing school deadlines during absences for sporting events, and a supportive framework that allows students to excel in both their sport and academics.

Oxley Gym

The Oxley College gym is a cornerstone of our school's commitment to student wellbeing. With state-of-the-art equipment and a supportive environment, having access to a welcoming gym encourages students to engage in regular physical activity. Its use aligns with our wellbeing principle to stay fit and promote a healthy lifestyle.

Sport Facilities

Our picturesque campus provides students with outstanding sports facilities, including rugby fields,  cricket pitches and practice nets, multiple football fields, four tennis courts, and athletics facilities.

The Peter Craig Centre (PCC), our indoor sports complex, houses two basketball/netball courts, a fully equipped gym, and modern changing rooms, all designed to support students' athletic development in a comfortable and accessible environment.
